Editorial policies

Authors, reviewers and editors must disclose conflicts of interest, funding sources and any prior publication of overlapping material. Editors decide independently of commercial or personal considerations; the publisher has no role in the acceptance of any individual manuscript.

Authorship follows ICMJE criteria: substantial contribution to conception or analysis, drafting or critical revision, approval of the final version, and accountability for the work. Guest authorship and ghost authorship are both grounds for rejection.

We follow COPE's Core Practices and published flowcharts for suspected misconduct, authorship disputes and post-publication concerns. Allegations are investigated by the Editor-in-Chief with the editorial board. Outcomes may include correction, an expression of concern, or retraction.

Anyone may raise a concern about a published article by contacting the editorial office. Complainants are told the outcome, and we do not require a complainant to identify themselves publicly.

Every submission is screened with automated similarity detection before reviewers are assigned. Manuscripts scoring above 15% similarity — excluding references and standard methodology language — are returned for revision or rejected.

Plagiarism confirmed after publication is grounds for retraction, and the author's institution is notified.

Generative AI may be used for language editing. It may not be listed as an author, and it may not be used to generate original data, analysis, results or citations.

Any material use of generative AI must be disclosed in the methods or acknowledgements section, naming the tool and describing what it was used for.

Reviewers and editors must not upload a manuscript under review to any third-party AI service. A manuscript under review is confidential, and pasting it into a hosted model is a disclosure.

Every article publishes immediately open access under CC BY 4.0, funded by article processing charges. There is no subscription, no embargo, and no reader-side paywall at any point.

Authors retain copyright. On publication, authors grant IJEIAI a non-exclusive licence to publish, and grant readers the rights defined by CC BY 4.0 — to share and adapt the work with attribution.

Authors may deposit any version, including the published version, in any repository at any time.

Authors, reviewers and editors must declare any financial, professional or personal relationship that could be perceived to influence evaluation of a manuscript. Editors recuse themselves where a conflict exists, and the manuscript is reassigned.

This matters more than usual in our subject area: much of this research is funded by the industries it measures. We do not treat industry funding as disqualifying — we treat concealing it as disqualifying.

Articles may be retracted for confirmed research misconduct, a major error invalidating the findings, plagiarism, or duplicate publication.

Retracted articles stay online, clearly marked, with a linked notice explaining the reason. We do not remove the scholarly record; we annotate it.

Errors that do not affect scientific integrity are corrected by a published erratum linked to the original. Both remain permanently accessible under their own DOIs.

Authors may withdraw a manuscript before publication by writing to the editorial office. Withdrawal after acceptance but before publication may carry an administrative fee covering processing already incurred.

Personal data collected during submission and review — names, affiliations, email addresses — is used only for editorial and publishing purposes. It is shared with DOI registration and indexing services solely as required to publish and index the article, and is not sold or used for marketing.
